Make a custom Tesla Christmas light show

Christmas is the most popular time of year to put on a Tesla light show. Neighbors walk by, kids gather in the driveway, and a car that blinks and dances in time with a carol becomes part of the decorations. With ilume you are not stuck with the same few downloads everyone else has — you can turn your favorite holiday song into a custom show in seconds.

How the Christmas preset works

Open the Studio, upload a song, and tap the Christmas chip under Seasonal. The generator analyzes the beat right in your browser — your song is never uploaded — and choreographs headlights, turn signals, fog lights, mirrors and other features with twinkle chases and gentle builds that suit sleigh bells and choirs as well as upbeat pop covers. You can preview the full song synced on a 3D car as many times as you like for free.

Ideas for a great holiday show

• Pick a song with a clear rhythm — classic rock-and-roll carols and modern pop covers give the most visible light patterns.
• Keep it short for a crowd: a 1–3 minute song holds attention best.
• Make a second show with the New Year preset for the countdown a week later.
• Share a preview link with family so they can watch the show without the song.

Loading it on the car

Every export is an FSEQ v2 show file plus the audio file, ready to copy to a USB drive:

1. Format a USB drive as exFAT or FAT32.
2. Unzip your ilume export to the root so the drive contains a LightShow folder with lightshow.fseq and the matching audio file (.wav or .mp3).
3. Make sure there is no TeslaCam folder at the root of the same drive.
4. Plug the drive into the car, open Toybox → Light Show, and start your show.

Safety: a light show can move closures — mirrors, the trunk or liftgate, the charge port and windows. Park somewhere with room around the car, keep people and objects clear of moving parts, and only run shows while parked.
